Man Who Raped 70-Year-Old Woman In Hotel Room Sentenced

A Montgomery County man convicted of raping a 70-year-old woman in a Rockville hotel room in May 2022 has been sentenced.

ROCKVILLE, MD — A Rockville man convicted of raping a woman in a hotel room in May 2022 has been sentenced to serve 50 years in prison, according to reports.

Arash Khosh, 46, was sentenced Monday on charges of first-degree rape, home invasion and second-degree assault.

He was sentenced to life in prison with all but 50 years suspended, plus five years of probation after release, according to the Montgomery County State’s Attorney’s Office. He will have to register as a sex offender for life, Montgomery Community Media reported.

On May 15, 2022, at the Hilton Garden Inn in the 14000 block of Shady Grove Road in Rockville, Khosh forced his way into the hotel room of a 70-year-old woman and sexually assaulted her, according to the prosecution’s evidence.

The victim was unknown to Khosh. Her husband was on the first floor of the hotel at the time having coffee, waiting for the victim to meet him for breakfast, according to charging documents.

“We thank the victim for her courage to testify before the court,” Montgomery County State’s Attorney John McCarthy said in a statement when Khosh was convicted. “This defendant attacked a vulnerable woman in our community, and the victim’s brave actions will help to prevent him from targeting anyone else."
