MoCo Firefighter Medals At 2023 World Police & Fire Games In Canada

ROCKVILLE, MD — Lt. Andrea Sudjapun of the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service won a silver medal Monday at the 2023 World Police & Fire Games in Winnipeg, Canada.

Sudjapun took part in the CrossFit competition, which includes elements of weightlifting, powerlifting, gymnastics and athletics. The three-day competition took place indoors at Winnipeg's RBC Convention Centre and medals were awarded on Monday.

A member of MCFRS' Battalion 3 in Rockville, Sudjapun is ranked 2,843rd among women ages 35-39 worldwide in CrossFit competition.

Held biennially, the World Police & Fire Games brings together 8,500 athletes representing law enforcement, firefighters and police officers from 50 countries to compete in a variety of events. The 2023 games in Winnipeg started with an opening ceremony on July 28 and will conclude on Aug. 6.
