VA, NC Check Fraud Suspect Believed To Be MoCo Woman: Police Video

Police are trying to identify a Montgomery County woman they say cashed fraudulent checks in North Carolina and Virginia last October.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MD —Montgomery County Police released a surveillance video Thursday in connection with two check frauds of a county resident that occurred last October at Truist Banks in Virginia and North Carolina.

On Oct. 6, 2023, a female suspect used a fake ID to cash a check at a Trust Bank in Hampton, Virginia, according to police. The suspect left the bank with an undisclosed amount cash.

The same suspect entered a Charlotte, North Carolina Truist Bank on Oct. 7, 2023, and used fradualant identification to cash another check from the same account.

Police described the suspect as a 50- to 60-year-old White woman, with a slim build and long brown/blonde hair. She was carrying a black wallet and work dark colored frame glasses, a brown scarf, a white shirt, light-colored pants and white shoes, according to MCDP.
