Summer House Restaurant Fire: No Injuries, $25K In Damages

No one was hurt after a fire started in the kitchen at Pike & Rose's Summer House restaurant. The fire was in the wall behind a stove.

NORTH BETHESDA, MD — A fire in the wall behind the stove at Summer House restaurant caused about $25k in damage, but no one was hurt, said Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Spokesperson Pete Piringer on Twitter.

The eatery in North Bethesda's Pike & Rose complex was closed for the remainder of the evening after firefighters arrived around 4:30 p.m. Sunday and put the fire out, said Piringer.

Firefighters were able to put the fire out by primarily using fire extinguishers.

Fire crews checked to make sure the fire was not extending to the Persei apartments above the restaurant.
