Take Your Child To Work Day In Montgomery County: April 25

At 'Take Your Child to Work Day' on Thursday, there will be interactive activities and booths and photo opportunities for kids.

ROCKVILLE, MD - From Montgomery County: In this 25th anniversary of the national and international Take Your Child to Work Day, approximately 300 children are scheduled to participate in the County’s Take Your Child to Work Day event, “Explore the Possibilities: Career Showcase.”

This year, children will be able to experience a wide variety of careers available in the County. Twenty-five interactive activities and booths will be available in the Executive Office Building (EOB) lobby, cafeteria, auditorium, and terrace. There will be opportunities for children to tour and take pictures with service vehicles parked in the traffic circle in front of the EOB. Times and availability below:

10 a.m.

  • Animal Services van
  • Emergency Medical Services equipment
  • Police car

11 a.m.

  • Sheriffs’ deputies with K-9 dogs and vehicles

Participants will get a firsthand introduction to the exciting careers available in a variety of departments including Technology Services, CountyStat, Recreation, Libraries, Health and Human Services, Transportation, Police, Fire and Rescue, Corrections and Rehabilitation, Finance, Human Resources and Environmental Protection.
