MASSACHUSETTS — It isn't so much a question of what there is to do in the Boston area and beyond, but rather, what should locals do?

Welcome to Patch's latest weekly roundup of highlight-worthy events across the city and surrounding areas. We've compiled them into one, easy-to-follow list, for your weekend planning.

Saturday is National Bowling Day, and one local company is giving residents a chance to win free bowling and pizza for a year.

Kings Dining & Entertainment, which has locations in Back Bay, Seaport, Burlington, Dedham and Lynnfield, is giving patrons a chance to win a year's supply of pizza and bowling through their reward accounts.

A winner will be chosen from each location and notified on Monday, company officials said.

Also on Saturday, Alamo Drafthouse and Commonwealth Shakespeare Company are hosting a free outdoor screening of "The Goonies" starting at 8 p.m. at the Parkman Bandstand at the Boston Common. The first 1,000 people to arrive will receive a free "The Goonies" flag.

"In true Goonies fashion there will be a treasure hunt where participants will receive a prize for finding the rich stuff placed around the event," officials said.
