MASSACHUSETTS — Welcome to Patch's weekly round up of food and restaurant news in Massachusetts, where we review openings, closings and more in the state's dining scene.

This week, we'll say goodbye to one of the most unorthodox grocery stores around: the Wegmans at the Natick Mall. The store opened in April 2018 as one of the New York-based chain's biggest stores, split between two mall levels and featuring grocery tech rarely seen at the time.

"Its bright central atrium features a cart conveyor system with an adjacent escalator for customers to navigate between floors. The spacious layout offers an abundant selection of nearly 70,000 items in all, more than 3,000 of which are organic in a warm and welcoming atmosphere," the company said in a press release near opening day.

Employees will close the store for the last time at 3 p.m. on July 22.

Framingham brewer Exhibit 'A' will host a unique dinner-beer pairing this month. On July 27, the brewer will pair Kölsch style ale with German-inspired food and live jazz.

"Under the lights of the patio, there will be live jazz from local band Bring Back Pluto. Crisp award-winning Kölsch Style Ale will be paired with 3 German-inspired plates, specially curated by professional Chef Steve and Pastry Chef Mandy. Enjoy amazing service by the brewers themselves! Included in each $45 ticket: Nonstop Kölsch until you top your cup with your custom coaster, your food, the jazz band, your first pour, and a glass to take home," the brewer said in a news release.
