MASSACHUSETTS — National Ice Cream Day is Sunday and several area shops and national chains are offering freebies and deals to celebrate.

Here’s a sampling of National Ice Cream Day Deals (as always, it’s a good idea to call ahead to make sure local franchises are participating):

Burger King: Burger King is offering rewards members a free soft-serve ice cream with any $1 purchase on National Ice Cream Day.

Carvel: Carvel is taking $6 off orders of $85 more on UberEats and DoorDash (exclusively on DashPass), valid Thursday through Sunday.

Cold Stone Creamery: For Cold Stone Club rewards members, members can get $5 off a purchase of $10 or more.The last day to earn the offer is Tuesday.

Dairy Queen: Rewards members can claim a free Dilly Bar on Sunday with the purchase of a $1 order at participating U.S. locations where the treat is available.

Friendly’s: The family restaurant has two deals, one for an 89-cent single-scoop cone commemorating its 89 years of service that’s good Wednesday through Sunday, and another good throughout the month for a Fribble milkshake for only $2 for rewards club members who sign up for the chain’s fan club.

Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams: The brand, found in grocery stores across the country, is offering $8 pints for five limited-time flavors: Nebula Berry, Cosmic Bloom, Purple Star Born, Supermoon, and Fluffernutter Pie while supplies last. Rewards members get early access to the deal starting Friday.

McDonald’s: The fast-food giant has announced the limited-time return of its Cookies and Crème Pie. Another new release is Kit Kat Banana Split McFlurry.

Organic Valley and Sugar Hill Creamery: The first 100 guests Sunday at Sugar Hill Creamery’s five New York City locations can get a free scoop of Sweet Corn Vanilla Custard made with locally sourced wild plum gelée swirl, a collaboration of the two companies. The limited-time flavor was created by Nick Larsen, who grew up on a family farm in Iowa where his grandfather planted an acre of sweet corn every year, will be available through July 31.

Talenti Gelato: A “Case of the Mondaes” kit featuring strawberry sorbet, De Soi Très Rosé Sparkling Non-Alcoholic Aperitif, freeze-dried strawberry slices, white chocolate shavings and freeze-dried edible flowers is now available on DoorDash in New York City, Chicago and Dallas. On Sunday, Talenti will release a limited number of free cases.

Yogurtland: Yogurtland is offering its rewards members double points for online or in-store orders. Premium flavors such as rich chocolate and creamy vanilla are available at select stores nationwide. Guests can also indulge in the brand’s new limited-edition flavor, Dragon Passion Tart, or summer favorites such as Toasted Coconut and Alphonso Mango Tart.
