100 Holiday Meals Distributed by Mt Calvary Comm Supper and ABUW

Local organizations and businesses come together to make a difference in the lives of 100 individuals during the holiday season.

On Monday, December 20th, Mt. Calvary Community Supper partnered with the Acton Boxborough United Way, Lowe's Meat Market of Northborough, and Bisousweet Confections to prepare 100 holiday meals for residents of Acton and Boxborough. This wonderful tradition started 10 years ago and continues annually thanks to the generosity and kindness of individuals and businesses working together for the greater good. Tom Lowe provided the roasted turkeys. Volunteers from MCCS carved, cooked, and prepared all the wonderful side dishes. Karen Collins, owner of Bisousweet, donated delicious desserts to complete the meal. ABUW provided financial support and sent a great group of volunteers to pack the meals for delivery. The Acton Community Services Coordinator and representatives from the Acton Housing Authority hand delivered the meals to 100 of our neighbors. Thank you to everyone who gave their time during this busy holiday season.

Mt. Calvary Community Supper continues to provide a sit-down dinner each Wednesday night for anyone in need of a nutritious meal and a bit of companionship. In addition, we are providing "take out" meals for those individuals who may not feel comfortable joining us indoors. As a non-profit organization, MCCS sincerely appreciates support from community members. A donation of $30 will provide ten guests with a nutritious meal and $350 can provide for an entire Wednesday night Supper. Please consider joining MCCS in the fight against food insecurity and social isolation. Donations may be made to Mt. Calvary Community Supper, PO Box 1125, Acton, MA 01720.
