Arlington 4th-Grader Memorizes 260 Pi Digits For Pi Day [WATCH]

ARLINGTON, MA — An elementary schooler from Arlington added to his impressive feat of memorizing pi digits, going from 140 last Pi Day to 260 this year.

Ike Palter's parents realized their son had an extraordinary memory when he could recite passwords that were "16, 17 digits long" to log on to Minecraft, his mom, Karla Palter, said. Last year, Ike's father challenged him to memorize 50 pi digits, then 80 and then 100.

"It was a really fun challenge to do during remote learning," Karla Palter said.

Ike challenged himself to hit 200 digits this year, surpassing that last week by reaching 260, Palter wrote in an email.
