Arlington To Host Retirement Reception For Town Manager Sandy Pooler

The event is being held to thank Pooler for his service to Arlington and celebrate his 32-year career in public service.

ARLINGTON, MA — The Town of Arlington will host a retirement reception for Town Manager Sandy Pooler on Thursday, July 27 at 6 p.m. in the Town Hall Auditorium.

The event is being held to thank Pooler for his service to Arlington and celebrate his 32-year career in public service.

Pooler has worked for Arlington since 2016, serving first as Deputy Town Manager and later as Deputy Town Manager/Finance Director when the consolidated Finance Department was formed in 2018. The Select Board named Pooler Town Manager in June 2022.

Prior to coming to Arlington, Pooler held many roles in municipal government including service as the Finance Director for the Town of Amherst and the Chief Budget Officer and Chief Administrative Officer for the City of Newton.

In addition, Pooler worked at the Massachusetts House of Representatives as Legal Counsel to multiple committees and has served as a legal clerk for his Honorable Albert Lee Stephens, Jr., a Federal District Court Judge.

All community members are welcome to attend Pooler's retirement reception. Doors open at 6 p.m. and there will be brief remarks by town and state officials at 6:30 p.m., followed by food and drinks at 7 p.m.
