Arlington Hydrant Flushing Continues Through June

Flushing hydrants and checking street valves is part of Arlington Water Division's annual maintenance procedures.

ARLINGTON, MA – The Arlington Water Division will be flushing hydrants and checking street valves as part of their annual maintenance procedures.

The work began on May 8 and continues until June 16th. The work will generally occur Monday through Friday from 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. (weather permitting). View of a map of the affected areas here.

Hydrants along this area will be opened, flushed, and valves will be checked. Abutters of the area may experience temporary low water pressure or discolored (rusty) water.

If you experience rusty water in your home, run cold water until the water is clear. Do not run your hot water or do laundry until your water is clear.
