Arlington Launching Rent, Mortgage Assistance Program In March

The program, funded through ARPA, will give households impacted by the pandemic up to $2,500 per month for up to four months.

ARLINGTON, MA — The town will launch its Tenant-Homeowner Assistance fund this month, providing rental and mortgage assistance to Arlington households impacted economically by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Funded through the American Rescue Plan Act, the program will give households up to $2,500 in assistance per month for up to four months.

The Tenant-Homeowner Assistance Fund will be open to Arlington households at all income levels that:

  • Rent or own their home
  • Have a primary residence in Arlington
  • Have documented current or previous inability or difficulty paying rent or mortgage due to COVID-19

Interested participants may register to be notified by email when the application is available.

The Tenant-Homeowner Assistance Fund is part of the town's ARPA framework, which was endorsed by the Select Board in October. Arlington expects to receive $35.25 million in total.
