Arlington Offers 1.75% Interest to Eligible Homeowners

The Town of Arlington Home Rehabilitation Loan Program provides financial assistance to income-eligible Arlington homeowners.

The Town of Arlington Home Rehabilitation Loan Program provides financial assistance to income-eligible Arlington homeowners who occupy one to four (1-4) family structures. This program, now its 42nd year, is funded through the Town’s Department of Planning & Community Development with Federal Community Development Block Grant funds. Funding permits the Arlington Home Rehabilitation Loan Program to make direct low-interest loans to eligible owners with household incomes at or below eighty percent (80%) of the area medium income as defined by HUD. The current interest rate is 1.75% with a minimum loan amount of $5,000.

The Town loans aid in correcting conditions found to be detrimental to the occupant’s health and safety while improving Arlington’s housing stock. Eligible work includes but is not limited to correction of code violations, accessibility improvements, lead-based paint abatement, energy conservation, repair or replacement of heating systems, chimneys, roofs, gutters, foundations, and walls.
