The scammer is using the department's business line to tell residents they have a warrant for their arrest and ask for their SSN.

ARLINGTON, MA — The Arlington Police Department is warning residents of a scammer spoofing the APD business line.

The scammer is using the line (781-643-1212) to tell residents they have a warrant for their arrest and then ask for their social security number.

Police are urging residents who receive this call to hang up immediately and not give out any personal information.
