Arlington Property Owner Pleads Guilty To Witness Intimidation
A property owner trying to push a real estate development deal through pleaded guilty to vandalizing an opponent's property.
ARLINGTON, MA — An Arlington property owner attempting to push a real estate deal through pleaded guilty to two instances of vandalism, according to YourArlington. Harold Boucher, 75, pleaded guilty in late September to two counts of witness intimidation, malicious destruction of property under $1,200 and attempting to commit a crime.
The Arlington Conservation Commission last month approved a second home at 47 Spy Pond Lane, which is owned by the Harold Boucher Trust, YourArlington reported. The decision was marred by what Commission Chairman Nathaniel Stevens called "a terrible act" committed on a neighbor's property.
According to police records cited by YourArlington, Boucher's target was opposed to his attempted development deal. Town Counsel Doug Heim advised the commission to not consider the vandalism when ruling on the Spy Pond Lane application.
