Arlington’s COVID-19 Positivity Rate Rises To 6.18%, Cases Plateau

ARLINGTON, MA — Arlington's positive COVID-19 test rate is now at 6.18 percent, a 1.05 percent increase since last week, according to the latest municipal-level data released by the Department of Public Health Thursday.

This week, the Town of Arlington reported a two-week case count of 135 compared to last week's case count of 133. Also over the past week, Arlington was adding 20.8 new cases per day per 100,000 people. That's about the same as the 20.7 cases per 100,000 in Arlington measured on July 7.

On Thursday afternoon, the state Department of Public Health reported 7,096 new coronavirus casesin the last week, as well as 31 new deaths and 3,775 vaccine doses administered.

The latest state vaccine report showed the number of fully vaccinated residents is 5.41 million. Booster doses were given to about 3.13 million residents.

The state releases town-by-town testing data every Thursday, including the number of people tested, the testing rate, the positive test rate, cases and infection rates.
