Arlington Will Host Armenia Tree Project Wine-Tasting Fundraiser

The event will raise money for a local nonprofit that plants trees and creates economic opportunities in Armenia and Artsakh.

ARLINGTON, MA —Armenia Tree Project (ATP), a Woburn-based nonprofit with a mission of improving the environment and creating economic opportunities in Armenia and Artsakh, has announced details for its upcoming local fundraiser.

The wine-tasting event is scheduled for 6 p.m. on Sept. 23 at the Armenia Cultural Foundation in Arlington, located at 441 Mystic St., on the banks of the Mystic River. Tickets are $100 and available online.

The event will feature wines from Storica Wines, an Armenian wine importer based in U.S. Among the brands featured will be: Keusch, Zulal, Shofer, Oshin, Van Ardi and Voskevaz. Appetizers will be provided by the Boston-based Armenian and Lebanese restaurant anoush'ella.

ATP, which will be celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2024, focuses on tree propagation, forestation, community planting, economic empowerment and education and awareness, according to its website.

The organization said it expects to plant its 8 millionth tree this year. ATP has planted 50 varieties of indigenous trees and shrubs across Armenia's 11 regions and Artsakh, a landlocked region located in the South Caucasus between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

At the fundraiser, Jeanmarie Papelian, ATP's executive director, will share details about the organization's work in Armenia and Artsakh.
