Arlington's COVID-19 Positivity Rate Falls to 6%

This comes as 150 cities and towns in Massachusetts have experienced an increase in positivity rates, according to data released Thursday

ARLINGTON, MA - Arlington's COVID-19 positivity rate was 6.01%, a decrease from the previous week, according to the latest municipal-level data released by the Department of Public Health Thursday.

This week, Arlington reported a two-week case count of 121. The total positive test number reported was 130.

The average daily case rate was 18.7, which was lower than the previous report, and there were 2,162 tests administered in the last two weeks.

On Thursday, the state Department of Public Health reported increases in cases in 150 cities and towns. There were 6.7 deaths per day over the last week, up from 5.6 per day a week ago.

The latest state vaccine report showed the number of fully vaccinated residents rose to more than 5.42 million. Booster doses were given to about 3.15 million residents.
