Arlington's EcoWeek To Encourage Community Climate Engagement

ARLINGTON, MA – Arlington will host a series of events to celebrate EcoWeek, an effort to raise awareness and to inspire action to benefit the planet.

EcoWeek will be held May 5-15 and events are open to all ages.

Events will include outdoors tours, online presentations, a Citizen Science data gathering project and a chance to submit a video about using renewable energy.

Arlington EcoWeek will also spotlight local art projects and community initiatives led by student green teams and community groups. These will highlight diversity and inclusion in the outdoors, native pollinator gardens and the ecological threat of plastic pollution.

“The Arlington student green teams and environmental clubs are looking forward to participating in this town-wide event, sharing their waste reduction and climate change projects with the community,” Rachel Oliveri, Arlington School Sustainability Coordinator, said in a prepared statement.

Starting May 5, the town will host litter clean ups, discussions on how to reduce trash in the Mystic, a climate playgroup for children, and much more. For a full list of events, click here.
