ARLINGTON, MA — Retro Burger and Ice Cream is shutting down, but its closure means the return of a longtime Arlington favorite. Restaurant owner Bill Maund announced on the Arlington List Facebook group over the weekend that he has "passed papers" to the owners of Toraya, a Mass. Ave. mainstay for more than 20 years.

Toraya had to close in April after its landlord decided to demolish the building. At the time, the restaurant's owners said they were looking for a new location to reopen. The restaurant opened in 1999 and offered sushi and other Japanese staples.

Retro Burger first opened in 2013 and served burgers, hot dogs, chicken fingers, ice cream and other similar fare. The restaurant was located at 795 Massachusetts Ave.
