Throughout 2021, the Town developed short-term safety improvements to the Mass Ave/Appleton Street/Appleton Place intersection through the work of the Mass Ave/Appleton Design Review Committee.

The short-term improvements came in response to the fatal vehicle crash of 27-year-old Charlie Proctor in 2020, and were implemented in November 2021.
