The Heights Pub has been in development since the spring of 2019, taking over the former Balich 5 & 10 space.

Owner Jim O'Rourke, of First House Pub in Winchester, initially faced pushback from a pair of nearby business owners when it was determined his plan would violate a zoning bylaw pertaining to the number of parking spaces. The opposition was ultimately withdrawn, but the pub needed to secure a variance on the town bylaw.

Plans stalled again once the pandemic hit, delaying the licensing process and the redevelopment of the space.

The Heights Pub will feature a full-service bar with beer, wine and cocktails, as well as pub food, American fare and gluten-free options. Its address is 1314 Massachusetts Avenue.
