Massachusetts Weather: Exceptionally Strong Winds, Low Temperatures on Deck

The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory in advance of tonight.

Last night was the rain. Tonight will be the wind.

The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory for all of Massachusetts, warning of howling winds with gusts up to 45 miles per hour and the possibility of downed tree limbs and power lines, with associated power outages.

The wind advisory will be in effect from 8 p.m. Saturday - 2 p.m. Sunday.

It won't be pleasant. Rain is expected on and off throughout the day, with the potential for scattered thunderstorms. At the windiest points late tonight, temperatures may feel close to freezing.

The strong winds could strip the trees of much of their remaining leaves.

Last night a flash flood warning hit parts of Massachusetts as roads were flooded all over the state. Worcester got more than 5 inches of rain, according to the NWS. That was more than it saw all summer.
