Obituary: Pauline M. Lombardo, 74, Former Arlington Teacher

Pauline taught in the Arlington school system for over 30 years.

ARLINGTON, MA – Pauline M. Lombardo (formerly Carrara) passed away peacefully at the Spaulding Hospital in Cambridge. She was 74. Raised in Medford, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Jenny (Reale) Lombardo. Pauline enjoyed a long teaching career with Arlington Public Schools. She taught French, Italian and Spanish. She graduated from Medford High School with the class of 1961, and earned her degree at Boston University, eventually achieving her Master’s in Education. Pauline lived many years in Arlington where she raised her son. As her 32 years in Arlington Schools drew to a close, she taught for a while at Merrimac College and also served as a translator for the Italian Consulate. She was a lovely person who enjoyed music and dancing and spending time with family and friends .

The beloved mother of Alex Carrara of Arlington, Pauline was the dear sister of the late Dr. Salvatore Lombardo and dear sister-in-law of Lola Lombardo of Burlington. She was a devoted aunt of Lola Marie Lombardo Mastracci, Dr. Paul, John and Dean Lombardo, a special friend to Elaine Foisy and is also survived by many cousins.

A funeral service will be conducted in St. John Episcopal Church, 74 Pleasant Street, Arlington, Saturday, March 24th at 1:30 PM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Interment will be private.
