ARLINGTON, MA — The Arlington Police Department hosted Bicycle Safety Day with Arlington Community Education Aug. 24. The event was held at the Gibbs School for grades K-8.

Bicycle officers White, Simard and Donham focused on teaching the children important hand signals, rules of the road and general safety tips.

Bicycle helmets provided by Project KidSafe were donated to children who participated. The campaign, sponsored by the Breakstone, White & Gluck law firm, has donated 30,000 bicycle helmets since 2013 and prioritizes bicycle safety in Massachusetts.
