ARLINGTON, MA — The Town of Arlington has released a survey for residents to help decide whether to replace on-street parking with bike lanes on part of Medford Street.

This past summer, the town repaved Medford Street between Warren Street and Mystic Valley Parkway. With the repaving of the street, it now needs to be restriped, giving the town an opportunity to change the priorities of the street.

Introducing bike lanes would align with the town’s Connect Arlington Sustainable Transportation Plan, which recommends bicycle facilities to provide better multimodal connectivity between Arlington Center and West Medford. This would allow for safer and more comfortable bicycling in Arlington and provide better transportation options for residents.

The survey is one of several data points the Town is taking into consideration and takes less than five minutes to complete.

Survey participants should provide the town with information on how they utilize Medford Street on a regular basis.
