BEVERLY, MA —A slip on the ice caused a brief lapse that let a 1-year-old pit bull/shepherd mix get away from his owner on Rantoul Street in Beverly on Monday.

Now Animal Control Officers of the North Shore are coming together to try to find Brewer.

Marblehead police posted on Tuesday that "all of the area ACO's are working to locate Brewer" after he ran toward Cabot Street when his owner slipped. Police said he had his leash on at the time.
