'Living With Coyotes': Beverly Coyote Presentation Thursday

After an uptick in coyote sightings, Beverly will hold a presentation on coexisting with the canids.

BEVERLY, MA – This season, Beverly Animal Control Officer Matt Lipinski has gotten about one call a week about coyotes. Given the uptick in sightings, the City of Beverly is holding an educational presentation on coyotes on March 30.

"It's definitely been more than the previous two years that I've been here," said Lipinski of coyote sightings. "In general they’re not a species to be feared, it’s more of a misunderstanding."

The presentation, by Massachusetts Representative of Project Coyote John Maguranis, will cover coyotes as a species, and how to coexist with them. The event, from 6 to 8 p.m. at City Hall, is open to the public beyond Beverly.
