“We’re very excited to give birth to the first child of the New Year [at Beverly Hospital],” said Julie Boria through a hospital translator.

Just as exciting for Julie Boria and her husband Juan, was that their whole family was able to be Julie’s eldest son – Joshua – who still lives in Puerto Rico was able to make it up to Beverly in time for the birth of his youngest sibling.

“We were hoping to have the whole family together,” Julie Boria said. “Not everybody gets to start the New Year with a brand new baby. It is a great blessing.”

But Joshua already has big plans for his younger brother.

“I want him to be a baseball player – for the Red Sox,” the 14-year-old said.

The new parents and family also expressed their gratitude to the entire Beverly Hospital team.

“Beverly Hospital was very good with how they took care of Julie and the new baby,” said Diana Lopez, Sahir’s grandmother. “The hospital was there every step of the way to make sure the baby would be born healthy.”
