Beverly Students Sought For Newly Launched Youth Council

The 11-member Council of students in grades 8 to 12 will learn about city government and be encouraged to advocate for youth issues.

BEVERLY, MA — Beverly students who want to participate in city government and advocate for issues involving themselves and their peers are invited to apply for one of the 11 spots on the newly launched Beverly Youth Council.

The Council is open to Beverly residents in grades 8 to 12 who will serve a one-year term. Youth Council members will be asked to attend monthly meetings as well as some subcommittee meetings.

The Youth Council will work collaboratively to support legislation at the local and state levels, plan an event that centers around a youth issue, and lobby at the State House.
