Cross-Country Running Series Returns This Fall, Registration Open

Registration is open now for students in K-8 for the Beverly Cross-Country Running Series. The first race is Sunday, Sept. 9.

The Beverly Cross-Country Running Series returns for another season this fall, open to all students in kindergarten through eighth grade. The series consists of three races on Sunday evenings in September, with various races broken up into age appropriate lengths raging from a quarter mile to one mile.

The series started in the spring with about 80 runners in four different races. Again this fall, top runners for the series will be recognized and other "fun" awards will be handed out.

After the spring series, participants called the Beverly Cross-Country Running Series a “very well-organized race which made it really fun for both kids and spectators” and others said it is a “fun event with lively music and very well organized.”

The goal of the races are to expose Beverly children to the sport of cross-country running. The series is designed to be fun with a festive and upbeat atmosphere. Both the length of the races and the race schedule is designed to complement other fall sports and activities for North Shore students. All proceeds will benefit the North Beverly Elementary PTO.
