Report Shows Drastic Decline In Brookline Rent Costs

BROOKLINE, MA — The cost of renting a one-bedroom apartment in Brookline has drastically decreased over the last year, according to the Zumper Boston Metro Area Report released June 30.

The report shows that Brookline's rent cost has decreased by 10% since June 2020, with a one-bedroom apartment averaging at $2,150 this year.

Despite the decline, Brookline experienced a 1.9% increase in rent last month, ranking as the third most expensive Eastern Massachusetts community to live in.

Zumper includes 22 cities and towns in the report to analyze and compare rents in the Boston area.

The average cost of a one-bedroom apartment in these communities was $1,827 last month.
