10K Brookline, Newton Customers In Dark Thursday Afternoon

BROOKLINE, MA — An Eversource power outage affecting customers in multiple states had nearly 10,000 customers in Brookline and Newton in the dark during Thursday's sweltering heat.

Eversource's outage map as of 4:15 p.m. indicated that 9,211 Brookline customers and 171 Newton customers were without power.

There were also 3,269 customers in Boston without power.

As of about 6:30 p.m., most of the customers had their power restored with Eversource reporting 201 customers in Brookline without power and 22 without power in Newton.

Eversource did not indicate the reason for the power outage as of Thursday afternoon.
