Connect with your child through family-friendly yoga this weekend!
Move together as a family! This kid-friendly yoga class weaves a rich balance between the imaginative world of the child with the distinct aspects of yoga practice that support mindfulness, self-regulation and joy. Your instructor comes from the teaching team at <a href="https://www.onthematyoga.com/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">On The Mat Yoga</a> in Concord.
For ages 3-12 with a caregiver. Bring a water bottle and a mat.
Please meet your instructor near the Two Black Hearts sculpture, located on the South Lawn.
Afterward, enjoy a picnic (bring your own or grab something onsite from Twisted Tree Café) and explore the Sculpture Park.
If it should rain, the program will be in the museum gallery.

Arias Aloft: Euphoria
Join us for a unique, magical evening of opera, musical theater, cabaret, and circus in the deCordova Sculpture Park! Spread a blanket on the ground, or bring your own chair for a wonderful family-friendly evening.
Circus 617 and Opera on Tap Boston combine two thrilling art forms for a one-of-a-kind event in a stunning outdoor location. Featuring vocal acrobatics and physical virtuosity courtesy of some of Boston’s leading circus artists and classical singers, this performance will showcase opera, musical theater and cabaret classics paired with breathtaking original circus acts. Inspired by the unique natural surroundings of the Trustees of Reservations properties, “Arias Aloft: Euphoria” explores the use of nature as a metaphor for human emotion.
About the guest artists:
Circus 617 is a collective dedicated to highlighting Boston-area circus artists, choreographers, and directors in new works of contemporary circus, created right here in the city we love. Circus 617 productions meld the spectacular, expressive physicality of circus with theatrical and musical methods of storytelling. Founded in 2020, Circus 617 received a LAB grant from the Boston Foundation in 2021 to create their debut ensemble production, Gathering the Threads.

Opera on Tap is a non-profit organization whose mission is to promote opera as a viable, living, and progressive art form by taking it out of the concert hall and putting it into venues where people least expect it. The company was founded in Brooklyn in 2005, and Opera on Tap’s Boston chapter launched in 2011 with an inaugural show at Cambridge’s Club Oberon. With live shows in unconventional venues ranging from public parks to bars to farmer’s markets across greater Boston, OOT has introduced audiences of all ages and cultural backgrounds to opera in performance formats that are fun, inclusive and accessible.

YOUR TICKET INCLUDES
Your ticket includes admission to deCordova’s campus and free parking. Please feel free to explore the grounds before or after the program. You’re welcome to picnic in the Park. Bring your own picnic or purchase beer, wine and food at the <a href="https://www.thetwistedtreecafe.com/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Twisted Tree Café</a>.  The deCordova museum store will be open to purchase gifts or souvenirs. Well-behaved, leashed dogs are welcome. Note: OUTSIDE ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES ARE NOT ALLOWED ON THE PROPERTY.

A colorful talk on what birds Henry saw versus today, presented by Peter Alden, author of the forward and scientific editor of the newly published “A Year of Birds”. Our grassland birds have become rare. A number of forest and marsh birds that used to nest here have vanished as breeders. Many southern species have come north due to a changing climate, bird feeders and a plethora of invasive plant fruits. Birds that were overhunted have come back big time. Henry never saw ravens, turkeys or turkey vultures let alone deer. What is the one bird Henry recorded often and is now extinct? Registration for this event opens&nbsp;Monday July 1, 2024. All of the events and activities are volunteer-led by partner organizations and are free and open to the public.

Award-winning Firelight Theatre Workshop presents We Were Friends, a playful reimagining of Margaret Fuller and Ralph Waldo Emerson’s profound friendship set in today’s world. In this 12-part series (two episodes of which are being performed at the Concord Museum this summer), Firelight explores the intimate and private moments of this deep, platonic friendship. The series moves non-chronologically: each episode stands alone, and yet each is a puzzle piece in the larger portrait of their friendship. In this first installment, Two Years In: Birthdays, we invite you to join Margaret and Waldo as they celebrate their birthdays on two distant picnic blankets. Margaret is suffering from a cold and indecision. Waldo, a rising writer and speaker, wonders about Beauty: is it always there, or is there never enough of it?
Bring your own picnic blanket and join Margaret and Waldo on the Museum’s front lawn for this outdoor performance. Following the performance, writers and performers Nora Fifer and Jason Lambert and co-writer Henry Walters will participate in a talk-back with the audience.
