Middlesex (MA) Sheriff Peter J. Koutoujian will conclude his two-year term as Major County Sheriffs of America (MCSA) President during the organization’s winter conference this week.

MCSA is a professional law enforcement association of the 113 largest sheriff's offices in the nation, dedicated to preserving the highest integrity in law enforcement. MCSA members represent over 130 million residents.

“Serving as MCSA President has been a deeply rewarding and humbling experience,” said Sheriff Koutoujian. “It has a been a tremendous honor to represent the dedicated law enforcement professionals who comprise this incredible organization and work with administration and congressional leaders to ensure our collective voices have been heard in critical discussions on policing and equity, pandemic response and host of other crucial issues.”

During his two-year tenure as president, MCSA:

Sheriff Koutoujian will officially conclude his term on Tuesday, February 8 when Seminole County (FL) Sheriff Dennis Lemma will be sworn in as president. Sheriff Koutoujian will remain a member of the executive board as immediate past president.

“I appreciate the leadership that Sheriff Koutoujian has demonstrated over the past two years serving as the President of the Major County Sheriffs of America. The Sheriff and his team put tremendous effort into making the past two challenging years successful for our association,” said Sheriff Lemma. “I am looking forward to the opportunity to carry forward the great work and accomplishments he has made over his tenure.”

“I want to thank my colleagues for the trust they placed in me to lead them over the past two years and I look forward to supporting President-elect Lemma and Vice President-elect Bill Brown as they continue to grow MCSA’s influence,” said Sheriff Koutoujian.
