NORWOOD, MA — At least three kids were taken to the hospital by ambulance Thursday when a branch broke off a tree at Father Mac's Playground, where Norwood Recreation holds one of its regular day camp sessions, according to the town.

"The branch fall unfortunately caused minor injuries to several campers who were in the vicinity," officials said.

The worst injury sustained appears to be an ankle injury, according to officials.

They added: "Out of an abundance of caution, the Public Works Department will be conducting additional trimming and branch removal beyond their routine maintenance at the site."
