Spirit Of Shrewsbury Festival This Weekend: What's Going On

SHREWSBURY, MA — Shrewsbury's annual fall festival returns this weekend with two days of events and activities centered around Oak Middle School.

The main Spirit of Shrewsbury town expo will take place Saturday at the middle school with the annual parade to follow on Sunday. The event will coincide with the fall equinox on Saturday.

This year's event will follow a community night at the new Shrewsbury police headquarters hosted by the department.

The weekend festival will be held rain or shine, and the weather forecast may hold more of the former. The chance of rain ranges from 30 percent on Saturday after 3 p.m. to 40 percent on Sunday, according to the National Weather Service.

Here's the planned lineup for the 2023 Spirit of Shrewsbury festival:

Saturday

• Pumpkin decorating, 10 a.m. to noon
• Shrewsbury Idol talent show, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the school auditorium
• Pie-eating contest, noon
• Dog show, 1 p.m.
• Activities also include face-painting, food trucks, a bounce house and balloons for kids

Sunday

• The parade begins at 11 a.m. with a float competition along Municipal Drive near the SELCO headquarters. The main event steps off at 1 p.m. from near the Beal School.
