Shrewsbury is one of the few communities in Massachusetts that operates its own electrical and cable utility, as opposed to using companies like Eversource, National Grid and Spectrum. SELCO recently launched a new streaming service, offering hundreds of channels and digital storage similar to private apps. SELCO's electric, cable and internet offerings are often much less expensive compared to private companies.

The SELCO open house will run Friday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the utility's headquarters at 30 Municipal Drive. Attendees can park across the street at the Paton School.
