In Shrewsbury, MA Women’s Rights History Trail Seeks Sites

A task force designing a Massachusetts women's rights task force will stop in Shrewsbury this week for public input.

SHREWSBURY, MA — A task force charged with designing a women's rights trail across Massachusetts will stop in Shrewsbury this week seeking ideas from local residents.

The Women’s Rights History Trail Task Force will stop at the Shrewsbury Public Library Tuesday evening as part of a statewide trip ahead of a Thursday hearing at the State House. The task force stopped in Adams and Marlborough in September.

During the event, which begins at 3 p.m., residents can suggest stops along the trail.

State Rep. Hannah Kane, R-Shrewsbury, coauthored a bill to create the task for along with former lawmaker Carolyn Dykema and state Rep. Danielle Gregoire, D-Marlborough. Kane is also a member of the task force.

"Recognizing women’s accomplishments will help preserve Massachusetts history, educate the public, and promote tourism throughout the state. I am hosting the listening session at the Shrewsbury Public Library, and look forward to reviewing suggestions for sites for the trail," Kane said in a new release.

The Women’s Rights History Trail Task Force will submit recommendations for trail sites to the state Office of Travel and Tourism.
