SHREWSBURY, MA — It's going to be very hot across the region this weekend — maybe even dangerously so.

The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for the weekend days starting Saturday morning. The heat index will feel like 99 degrees, the advisory says, which is hot enough to injure.

"Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles under any circumstances," the advisory said.
