Seeking a Talented Muralist

Seeking a Talented Muralist

Calling All Artists

Per Scholas Greater Boston is looking for a talented muralist to brighten our campus space and capture the beauty of our mission, our learners and alumni, and the spirit of Greater Boston. We are hoping to work with a local or emerging artist whose background reflects the diversity of our learners. Please forward the attached creative brief to any artist contacts who might be interested.

Project Details:

  • Location: The Link, 255 Main Street, 8th Floor, Cambridge, MA 02142

  • Project Dates: September - December 2024

  • Wall Dimensions: 8’ 4” high and 24’ wide on an internal wall

  • Materials: We would like the mural to be painted and installed on a removable vinyl that can be taken down and installed elsewhere, should we ever move campus spaces

  • Maximum Budget: $10,000 all in, including labor and supplies

  • Design Requirements: In an effort to minimally constrain the artist’s creativity, we have no specific requirements for subject matter, style, or composition, however we encourage artists to explore the Per Scholas Brand Book and website in order to better align with our established visual identity, mission, and vision. Our guidance would be to commission artwork that reflects both Greater Boston’s unique culture and identity, and the optimism and future-focused promise of Per Scholas’ mission of advancing equity through rigorous training for tech careers. Please note that because the mural is in a shared workspace, the incorporation of our logo should be subtle.

Expression of Interest & Portfolio Submission by Friday, September 13th: Per Scholas Greater Boston invites muralists to submit a short email confirming their availability during the timeline outlined above and a link to their portfolio by Friday, September 13th. Submissions should be e-mailed to H. Kay Howard, Managing Director - Per Scholas Greater Boston at [email protected]. Full timeline and next steps are detailed in the attached creative brief.
