Waltham Man Faces Charge In Salem Halloween Weekend Fight

A 30-year-old Waltham resident faces a charge of aggravated assault and battery with a knife after a Salem fight.

SALEM, MA — A Waltham man faces a charge after a fight in Salem over the pre-Halloween weekend, Salem police said.

On Oct. 28 at 12:05 a.m., police responded to the area of North Street and Summer Street for a reported fight.

When officers arrived they found a man who was bleeding heavily from his left forearm and wrist area. The man was taken to Salem Hospital for emergency treatment, officials said.

Detectives conducted a follow-up investigation after the other person involved in the fight fled the scene before their arrival. Eventually, he was identified as Bryan Brandao, 30, of Waltham.

Brandao is charged with aggravated assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (knife) resulting in serious bodily injury, officials said.
