More Than 6,200 In Westborough Without Power: UPDATE

Westborough is among the many communities hit across the state.

WESTBOROUGH, MA—An especially heavy snow in this newest nor'easter has caused power problems for multiple communities across the state, including Westborough.

By noon on Thursday, 6,232 of 8,597 were affected in Westborough, marking 72 percent of the customers in the town, according to National Grid. Power is expected to be restored by 11:45 p.m. on Thursday. This marks little change from the amount without power at 6 a.m., when it was also more than 6,000.

More than 110,000 power customers were in the dark as of 1 a.m.., according to the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency. Patch will be updating power outages throughout Thursday, so check back often. Southern Worcester County and the Merrimack Valley are seeing the worst of it.
