Winchester Forecast: Slippery Rush Hour Commute

Most of interior Eastern Massachusetts is under a Winter Weather Advisory with snow and ice expected to come in late Tuesday afternoon.

WINCHESTER, MA - Most of interior Eastern Massachusetts is under a Winter Weather Advisory with snow and ice expected to come late Tuesday afternoon, just in time for rush hour.

The Winter Weather Advisory is in effect from 4 p.m. Tuesday until 6 a.m. Wednesday. It was not initially called for Suffolk County or all of Middlesex County.

However, Winchester is not currently under an advisory, but the NWS is still calling for now and sleet until about 4 a.m. tomorrow morning.

The forecast calls for snow, sleet and freezing rain. The area should see snow accumulations of just one to two inches, along with a trace of ice, according to the National Weather Service.

Snow is expected to overspread the area Tuesday before mixing with sleet before changing freezing rain around midnight. By early Wednesday morning it will be all rain.

Officials warn untreated roads will become snow and ice covered resulting in slippery travel Tuesday night and overnight into Wednesday.
