Missing Worcester County Autistic Girl Drowned In Neighbor's Pool: DA

SUTTON, MA — A 4-year-old autistic girl reported missing Thursday was found dead in her neighbor's pool, authorities said Friday morning.

Sutton police on Thursday afternoon asked for help from the public looking for the girl, named Eva, in the Peachtree Drive area. The Worcester County District Attorney's Office reported Friday morning the girl was found in a pool in her neighborhood.

"Emergency personnel transported her to UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester, where she was pronounced deceased," the DA's office said.

Police and the DA declined to comment further on the incident.

"The past 12 hours have been incredibly difficult for one of our families in town and our team of first responders. There are no words that we can offer to help ease the heartache our residents our feelings no. We are so incredibly sorry," Sutton police said in a statement Friday morning.
