Internet Blows Up With Leaked Pictures of 2016 Chevrolet Camaro
The Chevrolet Camaro came out of retirement in 2009 so General Motors could compete with Ford Motor Co. in the "pony car" market.

Photos of General Motors Co.’s 2016 Chevrolet Camaro are blowing up the Internet in advance of the planned global debut of the muscle car at a weekend event on Belle Isle.
A picture of the car showed up on CNBC Friday morning, taking some of the surprise out of Saturday’s announcement, which is expected to be attended by about 1,000 people. The images were screengrabs from Jalopnik.

The Camaro is important for GM, which brought the car out of a seven-year retirement in 2009 to compete against Ford’s Mustang among nostalgic Baby Boomers, Bloomberg News reports.

“It’s huge,” Mark Reuss, GM’s executive vice president over product development and purchasing told Bloomberg. “It’s the icon of the pony car market.”
