Michigan gas prices dropped 11 cents per gallon on average last week, the first time in six weeks that gas prices have gone down, Dearborn-based AAA Michigan said in a news release.

The average per gallon price of self-serve regular unleaded gas is about $2.30, almost a buck-and-a-half cheaper than at this time last year.

The cheapest gas Tuesday appeared to be at a Marathon station on Telegraph Road in Detroit, where gas was $2.07 a gallon. Some stations were selling regular unleaded gas fo4 $2.50 a gallon.
