On the prowl for summer reading that fits your inflation-challenged budget? The Friends of the Rochester Hills Public Library’s Summer Used Book Sale is set for July 17 –July 22.

Thousands of books and other items ---CDs, DVDs, games and puzzles ---are for sale at the library building at 500 Olde Towne Road in downtown Rochester. It’s located in the library’s second floor addition in the space dedicated to the Friends’ used book operation.

Most will go for reader-friendly pricing at $1 for hardcover and large softcover and 50 cents for small paperbacks.

The sale hours are familiar to regulars with one exception. Because the library is closed on Sundays in the summer, the Bag Day (all the items you can place in a large paper grocery bag for $5) will be Monday morning. Come early for the best selection.

As usual, Friends members (new members can join upon entry) get to take part in a pre-sale, set for Wednesday, July 17, from 5:30 – 8 p.m.
