Huge Flag Marks Independence Day in Oakland County

The flag draped over the Oakland County Circuit Court Building will remain on display until Tuesday, July 7.

A huge American Flag will be draped on the west wing extension of the Oakland County Circuit Court Building Saturday to celebrate the Independence Day holiday.

The 30-foot by 60-foot banner will remain on display until Tuesday, July 7.

“The U.S. flag is a visual reminder of why we celebrate Independence Day,” Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson said in a statement. “It tells the story of the original states, of the sacrifices made by our founders, and of the incredible country we’ve become.”
